last july 20, 2009 i received a request from NS 1 and i was really pissed off about the note that was posted on the request the note read as " MTOD (medtech on duty) please processed the specimen immediately". I was deeply insulted because first and foremost i myself processed the specimen immediately whenever I received one. So i immediately called up the chart nurse to ask who the hell, this arrogant demanding person wrote the said note. When the nurse picked up the phone. I said" Hello, i wanna speak to the chart nurse of : ' Patients name' . then the nurse replied, " ah sir ako po bakit? then i continued " Ano toh? bakit may processed immidiately to di mo ba alam na pag Culture and sensitivity 1 week ang processing time nyan. at alam mo ba na na may procedure kaming sinusunod sa specimen handling? Sino may gawa nito. The chart nurse replied" ah sir kasi hindi ako nag carry out nyan inendorse lang sa akin nyan.. then i replied with a louder voice " Miss pakisabi sa taong gumawa nito na nainsulto ako ultimo off ko bumabalik ako sa hospital para mag process ng mga specimen ha!" salamat!.. Then i end up the call. Then i suddenly realized what i did.. It was 7am in the morning and i scolded a nurse.. come to think of it, it was not that big issue because its just a note.. I feel my head is on fire the minute i read the note. my colleague didn't have any reaction about it and they totally agreed of what i just did. the nurse surely got the piece of me that morning..

While waiting for the next shift, i just processed some of the newly extracted blood from outpatients. Ger, one of the morning shift approached me and said " Nep na received mo ung specimen?" i replied " Aling specimen? " Ger replied " ung kahapon na pinacollect ko ng specimen at nabasa mo ung note? AKO MAN NALAGAY NG NOTE!" then i said with a red flush on my face " Hala ger na pagalitan ko kaya ung nurse ngaun lang sabi ko na insulto ako sa sinulat nya at pinahanap ko pa ang taong nag lagay ng note. ikaw lang pala. baliw ka tlaga. " Right then and there i realized that it was not the fault of the nurse it was mine and mine alone hehehe. i was so shy leaving the laboratory hoping that this nurse will not see me when i go out the lab and will not make a fuss out of what happened.. anyways there are three guys in the lab she will not know who scolded her early in the morning hehehehe.. peace out sa nurse na un..
